Level 1 Training Course September – December 2026

LifeChange Psychotherapy returns this September with its Level 1 Course of Integrative Bodywork Training for therapists interested in developing and specialising in bodywork, bioenergetics and body process awareness and tracking for their client work.

Course Overview:

  • Experiential and practice-based modules with practical skills and tools, including core theory and framing

  • Focus on bioenergetics, bodywork and breathwork (Reichian Breathwork, Lowen Bioenergetics)

  • Character structure / dynamics based (Reich, Lowen, Johnson, Kessler)

  • Includes integration with other humanistic, integrative frameworks such as Person-Centred Therapy, Relational Gestalt and Trauma-based work (Rogers, Yalom, Ogden, Van Der Kolk etc.)

  • Therapeutic interventions and techniques for deeper integrative work with clients

  • Max 12 Places (for quality of experiential training, individual, dyadic and group work)

  • Fees: €1400 including a booking deposit of €300 (instalments can be arranged)

  • Location (TBC): LifeChange, 5 Clanwilliam Square, Grand Canal Quay, Dublin 2

  • Participants should hold a psychotherapy qualification and be engaged in ongoing clinical practice and supervision

  • Extensive electronic notes and handouts provided

  • CPD points: 60

  • Clinical Supervision, peer support and extra group practice available and recommended

  • Follow up Level 2 Skills Development Modules and Post-Graduate Specialisation for longer term and continuing professional development available for those who have completed initial bodywork training courses in Ireland or abroad

About the Facilitators

Brian Gillen
Brian GillenMA Psychotherapy, Dip Supervision, H.Dip (Ed), Bacc Phil, BA (Hons) Soc., MIAHIP, SIAHIP, ICP.
Brian Gillen is an experienced Psychotherapist specialising for over twelve years in Bodywork and Body-based Psychotherapy as a practitioner and trainer. He is a He is a Skills Tutor and Lecturer in Psychotherapy and Supervision Programmes at Turning Point Institute, Dublin. He is also a Clinical Supervisor, Director and Founder of LifeChange Psychotherapy & Counselling and Body Psychotherapy Ireland. He holds a Masters Degree in Psychotherapy and has trained with the IPP and abroad in various Bodywork, Biodynamic and Bioenergetic approaches to therapy. He is a long-standing member of IAHIP and ICP.
David Foot
David FootBA (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy MIACP
David Foot is an experienced Psychotherapist with over fourteen years’ experience. He is a practitioner in bodywork and bioenergetics, having completed his own training in DBS and subsequently IPP and LifeChange Bodywork Training. He continues to work in somatic and body-based psychotherapy through his private practice in Dublin and with LifeChange Training. He is a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).
